*Greetings all GFOM Family and Friends,

We pray you are all well. Things are moving fast as Pastor Paul was summoned to Manila to look into starting a Safehouse for prostituted in the Philippines. While he is in Manila, he reports that he has received a threatening e-mail from someone in the USA. This is an serious matter and he is asking for your prayers. While there, he also is attending needs of the GFOM Poor Children’s feeding Centers. Many needs, many lost that also need Christ. While this may be a relatively short newsletter, we are praying for all of you who are praying and giving financially to this ministry. God is wonderful despite all the pain and suffering we see around us.

The season where we celebrate our Lord’s birth some 2000 years ago is fast approaching. Let us not forget the reason for the season. May you and your family have a blessed Christmas and New Year.

Global Family Outreach Ministry Nov. Newsletter

Greetings and God Bless you friend,

We are so pleased to share about the Lord’s goodness as Pastor Paul was out and about sharing about Global Family Outreach Ministry in the month of October. Pastor Paul is asking the Lord for more churches/individuals/groups to be involved in this ministry and helping the poor in the Philippines as all around the world come to know Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour. Are you a Pastor, on a Missions Board or perhaps interested in being involved with GFOM ? If you are, Please contact us at 585.409.5406 or by e-mail at paul@gfom.org

The month of October was a very difficult  time for not only the Poor Children’s Feeding Center in our Pasig City, Manila outreach but for us personally because of all the typhoons and flooding there, it was nearly impossible(floods, diseases) to feed the children. Pastora Jorlyn Relevo was able to home deliver some dried noodles for the poor children as she was also overwhelmed by the request of the parents and the siblings of the children we normaly feed at the GFOM Feeding center, were also hungry. We did not have enough money and food to feed them also-very sad.

Our Guimaras GFOM Poor Children’s Feeding Center is doing well-Praise The Lord Pastor Nena  Bantonliano gives this report;

“Christian greetings to all our GFOM Family Members, Supporters and Friends.

We praise and thank the Lord for your faithfulness in the ministry.
The month of October is the beginning of the second quarter in our School Feeding program.

The program continues to feed the 147 school children every Friday, not only with physical foods but most of all with spiritual foods.

As we plan the menu to serve to the children, we also plan the Bible Lessons plan. This quarter the children is learning the theme, ” Words and Deeds of Jesus “. In these lessons,
the children will be encouraged to become a member of God’s family. They will learn why
Jesus performed so many miracles , and they will study about some of the wondrous things Jesus did. They will be encouraged to please Jesus according to what Jesus has said pleases Him.

Both the principal and the teachers appreciate the Bible lessons we taught in the school, because the behavioral problems they are encountering towards the children are dealt and lead to individual personal counseling.

We will persevere because you are there as our inspiration, and most especially the lost souls being brought to Jesus, and the over one hundred stomach being filled every time we have the feeding program.

Thanks be to God for the GFOM Feeding ministry, because the weak, the helpless, and the discouraged are in the shepherd’s care. Halleluyah! Amen.

To God be the glory.

In His Service,
Pastor Nena Bantolinao”
As you can see, by the Grace of God, we are bveing effective for the Kingdom of God. Praise the Lord we are moving forward despite so many difficulties. Here we would like to share some of our needs. Would you please prayerfully consider helping us make a difference for Christ;
We are prayerfully requesting;
*Monthly financial giving for Pastor Paul’s Monthly support to return to the Philippines-Full Time
*A volunteer to organize and develop with Pastor Paul next years Medical Mission trip to the Philippines
*Volunteers to be involved with GFOM in their local church(es) to share about the importance of this         ministry.
*Pastors/church leaders to be involved in helping with the overall needs of GFOM…Used clothing ministry, Feeding Ministry,  Evangelising/Preaching in the Philippines, Etc…
*Used laptop computers, camera, good used electronic equipment
If you are able to help, please remember if you live in the USA, your gift is tax deductable as GFOM is an IRS approved 501c3 religious charity.

Global Family Outreach Ministry-October, 2009 Newsletter

Greetings Family and Friends of GFOM,

We pray that all of you are blessed. We are so very encouraged here at the ministry as we are seeing exciting moves of God in our midst.  in September, we  had seen beginning of the blessing of a new internet radio program that Pastor Paul is now preaching and teaching the Word of God from 6 to 7pm(Philippines Time) every Monday through Friday in the Philippines (www.batasmauricio.com) . Pastor Paul is on his computer to transmit the Word of God via another computer-server in the Philippines and then  re-broadcasted in the Philippines and also throughout the world-Praise be to God ! This opportunity was opened to Pastor Paul unexpectedly and he shared  that he is very thankful to have the privilege and honor to do so. We also are pleased to announce that as of now, we  are at full capacity for both our poor children’s feeding centers in the Philippines. As we always do, we are not only feeding children physically, we are more importantly, feeding the children the Word of God.

An update regarding a tragedy in the Philippines, if you have not been informed already and are aware also, a horrific Monsoon( named Ondoy) and flood devastated the Manila, Philippines area and we have reports of upward of 300,000 Filipinos have been displaced and many dead. The Manila- Pasig City Poor Children’s Feeding Center is currently flooded still (5 days after the initial flooding) and we are unable to feed the children in our center. We are hopeful soon to somehow transport packages of dried noodles to these children in the coming future so the children will have something to eat. We will do our very best to get any food, and other supplies to these children and their families as quickly as possible, and as the Lord will provide.

We are therefore asking for those of you reading this newsletter to please make a donation to GFOM for our relief effort in the Philippines. PLEASE visit our websites; www.gfom.org and or www.beaheronow.net and click on the “donate” button to make your best financial donation available for this important relief effort. Everything given will be appreciated and given in the name of Jesus.

Pastor Nena from our  GFOM Guimaras Island Poor Children’s Feeding Center,  is reporting that there are more children(Praise the Lord) giving their hearts to Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour. Recently a water baptism event was given in the local church where one child from the GFOM Feeding Center also was water baptized. Please keep 12 year-old Dave Serra in your prayers as now being Saved through Jesus and water baptized, he will go on serving the Lord.

We also have other financial needs including monthly support for Pastor Paul’s living/working expenses in the Philippines. We wish to open a church in the Manila, Philippines and this church project is already approved by the Filipino Government-Praise the Lord.

Again, we are asking for your help in advancing the Kingdom of God and in “Our final push” to see many come to Christ before his soon return. One last request is that you would please keep Global Family Outreach Ministry and Pastor Paul and his family in your prayers as we move ahead in sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ throughout the world-Thank You.

Many Blessings,

GLOBAL FAMILY OUTREACH MINISTRY NEWSLETTER

September 1, 2009

Dear GFOM Family and Friends,

Here it is September already and 3/4 of the year is gone. We are so grateful to the Lord for all God is doing with Global Family Outreach Ministry and the absolute pleasure and and honour it is to serve Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour.

By a miracle and the hand of God, this ministry is involved in serving the lost and seeing many in the Philippines and  around the world come to Christ as Lord and Saviour. We continue to operate our poor children’s feeding centers in the Philippines on a bare bone budget. We are always looking to the Lord on how to raise funds so Pastor Paul can operate as a full time Missionary and as well expand the feeding program in Nigeria as well as in the Philippines.

Would you please prayerfully consider a financial gift to GFOM ? It would be a great blessing for the on-going work of this important ministry.

This month, we thought we would share some words from our GFOM laborers in the Philippines and give you a further insight of what the Lord is currently doing and how He is using GFOM. Please take a few minutes and read below of  both Pastor Nena and Pastor Jorlyn’s hard work and dedication to serve Jesus and also to see hurting and dieing children and their families come to Christ.

Sincerely,

Global Family Outreach Ministry Team

Greetings to GFOM members and supporters from Guimaras, Philippines!

We pray that you are blessed with God’s goodness and Spiritual Joy in all that you do in your lives.

Reading the GFOM’s July newsletter, I see how you work hard, donate items in order to raise funds to continue and maintain the support for the Feeding Program Ministry here. We would like you to know, that even though we are halfway around the world, we shared with you in all the endeavors.  Praise the Lord for His wonderful works.Thank you very much. Halleluyah!

We are encouraged to do the work of the Lord as good stewards of God’s resources. To feed the physically and spiritually hungry children. Every bit of the foods we served are fruits of your goodness and kindness and manifestation of God’s love to the needy children. Because of these we are forever grateful. God bless you more and more.

Every Friday each week, children are enjoying the Word of God and physical food. August is typhoon month, heavy rain and colder winds, but it did not stop the volunteer to cook the food to serve hot soups to the children who are patiently waiting. And also this past few weeks are school exams of the school children. After the busy minds in school lessons they listened to the refreshing Bible stories, and eat the delicious snacks. Remember that many of these school children just go to school not having breakfast from their home. God is really good. Praise the Lord and thank you.

God is rewarding our labors as we worked as partners in the Lord’s ministry, and the fruits are the souls being saved and comforted each week we minister to them. It is our joy to serve the Lord.

We pray therefore that many more souls get saved as we see the day of Christ second coming is drawing near. Let us work while it is day, time will come when we can not work.
JESUS IS COMING SOON.

More blessings!

In His Service,

Pastor Nena Bantolinao

GFOM NEWSLETTER

August 1st, 2009

Greetings Friends and Family,

We pray that you are blessed in the Lord’s salvation and blessed in your lives in all that you do.

At the writing of this newsletter, we here at Global Family Outreach Ministry have been so busy this past July and we are gearing up for August 2009. During July we met some new friends from the North Syracuse, NY area. We want to say a special Thank You to Pastor Timmonds who invited us to their Evangelistic Outreach there in N. Syracuse. We were able to share not only Salvation Through Christ, but about GFOM-Praise The Lord. July was also a month of transition as we had seen our financial support drop but we are thankful for the money we made at the GFOM Yard Sale to help put a little money back in towards feeding the poor children in the Philippines as well, continuing our evangelism outreach ministry with them. Thank you again to Pastor Ed Brown and Eduardo Torres from New Covenant Chapel Church in Elba, NY for their help with the Yard Sale.

August is looking up as we are involved with  the Kingdom Bound Ministry Event in Darien, NY(Darien Lake Theme Park, August 2-5) and possible other speaking sharing engagements in the works. Beyond August we are not sure what the Lord will bring as we have some tentative meetings at some churches but nothing is definite yet. This is probably a good place in the newsletter to share that it is our hope in the Lord that Pastor Paul will make his semi-permanent move to the Philippines and also begin his travels to conduct Evangelist Crusades in Africa this coming fall. This means we are asking everyone to please pray and ask the Lord for resources to achieve what is needed. Please pray for not only finances for GFOM but safety for Pastor Paul and his family. Please also pray for people to donate items such as airline mileage so that cost towards plane tickets will be at a minimum.

Children and families in the Philippines are accepting Christ every week partially because of the privilege we have here at GFOM to serve overseas. Children are as well, being fed physical food and are very much happy to receive not only the physical food but Spiritual food in Christ. Global Family Outreach Ministry Team Members work hard so that we may be used of the Lord to see 100’s and Thousands hear the call of the Holy Spirit and then come to Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour. Lives are being spared as children are not dyeing from malnutrition because of those who believe in helping GFOM feed the poor-Praise The Lord and Thank You.

We pray that if you are not already, that you may become a partner with us in seeing so many people who are lost and hurt all around the world, know Jesus in their Heart today.

Many Blessings!!!

Global Family Outreach Ministry Team

Hi all, had a wonderful time meeting with other Christians, Pastors in North Syracuse, NY. Shared for a few minutes about GFOM. Prayed for everyone in attendance. That was awesome in of itself. We here at GFOM love to be a blessing to the Body Of Christ.

There will hopefully be more fruit from the gathering as I shared John 3:16 and Luke 9:23.

Me with Pastor Sohail from Pakistan and Pastor Dan from Georgia

Me with Pastor Sohail from Pakistan and Pastor Dan from Georgia

Thank you to Pastors Timmunds, Jason, Kevin and all the others. Your support of Global Family Outreach Ministry is a blessing.

Please Allow Me To Share Our Needs…..

Its been some time since we were able to share some of our ministry needs here at Global Family Outreach Ministry. It is important for us to tell you our needs so that we many continue serving our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

As most of you know, the Major focus of our ministry is Evangelism; seeing people give their hearts and lives to Jesus Christ. We do that in a practical way. Our friend Dom Danesi, Director of Ready To Respond Ministry said it this way about Global Family Outreach Ministry:

Global Family Outreach Ministry does exactly that, the people involved reach out! Helping the hurting, the hungry and the lost is what Jesus calls all believers to do. As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead (James 2:26). The gospel of Jesus Christ is what every person needs. GFOM not only shares the gospel with children and their families, they feed them and restore them. I know anything given towards this ministry will be used toward helping people spiritually and practically.”

I think it best what He shared is so important to help see more people come to Christ, We are asking that everyone would prayerfully consider helping us with the following needs;

1. Monthly Financial support for Poor Children’s Feeding Centers

2. The Monthly Financial Support  for Pastor Paul to return to the Philippines as a full-    time missionary.

3. A Medical Missions Director

4. Medical Staff willing to donate time and resources to help on a Medical Missions Trip(There is still time left to do so in 2009)

5. Funds to open a new Poor Children’s Feeding Center in Nigeria, Africa

6. More volunteer staff to help with day to day operations of GFOM including outreaches to churches, organizations and individuals

7. Purchase of Airplane tickets and or donated Northwest Airlines or Delta Sky  Miles for missionary trip to the Philippines.

Thank you so very much for every one’s faithful part in helping,

Many Blessings,

Pastor Paul

Do you Know who Jesus is?

It has come to my attention after speaking to many people around the world and even some pastors, they don’t know who Jesus is. Here is what I have from my GFOM web site….

GOD’S PLAN OF SALVATION FOR ALL PEOPLE

“Hallelujah! Salvation and glory and power belong to our God” (Revelation 19:1).

In the daily grind of life we look for answers regarding our health, financial situation, job, family and future. We devote time, energy and resources in pursuing happiness and fulfillment in life (Matthew 6:21). Whether you have all you could ever ask for or very little, this message is for you. The message of the cross is for all people from every nation. No matter where you are at in life, I hope you will think about the two most important questions you will ever answer.

1. Do you know for certain that if you were to die today you would go to heaven?

2. Suppose that you were to die today and stand before God and He were to ask you, “Why should I let you into my heaven?” What would you say?

Every person will stand before God to be judged (Day of Judgment), “So then, each of us will give an account of himself to God” (Romans 14:12).

Think about these questions seriously because they are a matter of eternal life (in heaven) or death (in hell). If you are not sure whether or not you would go to heaven, I have good news for you! The Bible tells us that it is possible to know for sure that we have eternal life: “I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life” (I John 5:13).

How can we know for sure that we will have eternal life in heaven?

Let us closely examine what the Bible says about God’s relationship with man and the doctrine (teaching) of salvation. We begin our study by looking at some of God’s attributes that He has revealed to us in His Word.

God’s Attributes

God is holy. No one compares to God (1 Samuel 2:2; Exodus 15:11).
God is one. He is the only true God. He has revealed himself as a trinity of three persons – the Father, the Son (Jesus) and the Holy Spirit, each of whom is equally God (Jeremiah 10:10; Isaiah 45:5).
God is eternal. He always has existed and he always will (Psalm 90:2; Revelation 1:8).
God is just. He is our Creator, Sustainer of life and Judge. His justice is perfect (Isaiah 30:18; Psalm 97:2).
God is omniscient. He is all knowing. He knows everything in the past, present and future (Psalm 119:168; Psalm 94:11).
God is omnipresent. He is present in all places at the same time. God is fully aware of everything that happens everywhere. He knows what we do and say and our every thought (Jeremiah 23:24).
God is omnipotent. He is all powerful. He can do all things (Psalm 135:6).
God is sovereign. He is the sole and supreme ruler of the universe (Job 37:23; Daniel 4:35).

Why did this all knowing, all powerful, sovereign God create us? Why do we exist? What is God’s purpose for us?

Mankind Was Created In God’s Image

“So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them” (Genesis 1:27). Being created in God’s image (likeness) does not mean we are “little” gods or that we possess His supernatural attributes. God created mankind in His own image to be a reflection of His holy character (personality). We have the ability to reflect His character in our love, patience, forgiveness, kindness, and faithfulness. “We love because he first loved us” (I John 5:6). Mankind was a unique creation of God that was set apart from the rest of the created beings. God gave man the authority (rule) over all other living creatures that He created (Genesis 1:28; Psalm 8:5-8). God has the ultimate rule over all things but He has delegated this authority to man.

God’s Purpose For Man

God’s purpose for mankind is that we honor, serve, and fellowship with Him. “You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being” (Revelation 4:11). Adam and Eve were the first man and woman that God created. At the time of creation, man was perfect in nature, reflecting God’s character. A perfect harmony existed between God and man because Adam and Eve honored God by obeying His commands (Genesis 2:16-17). In our world today, the image (likeness) of God in man is not clear. The reflection of God’s character is dim.

What happened to destroy this perfect relationship? What went wrong? Why do we need salvation?

Man’s Problem: Sin

God commanded Adam and Eve not to “eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil” (Genesis 2:17). When they disobeyed God and ate from the tree (Genesis 3:1-7), sin entered the world (Romans 5:12). Adam and Eve’s sin passed to the entire human race, “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23). Sin is rebellion against God. It is breaking God’s law, “Everyone who sins breaks the law; in fact, sin is lawlessness” (1 John 3:4). Sin is individual acts of doing what God has told us not to do or not doing what God has commanded us to do. Sin is not limited to our actions but it includes what we think or say (Matthew 5:21-48). Sin can also refer to a general human condition. The perfect nature of mankind from creation no longer exists. We inherited a sinful nature from Adam and we are born with it.

Is sin serious? Does sin have consequences? Does sin hinder our salvation?

Sin’s Penalty: Death

God’s holiness demands a penalty for man’s sin, “For the wages of sin is death” (Romans 6:23a). The consequence (result) of sin is death. The Bible teaches that death resulting from sin separates a person from God. Spiritual death separates a person from the life of God, “As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins” (Ephesians 2:1). Spiritual death begins at birth, man is born with a sinful nature, and continues to sin throughout life until physical death. Physical death occurs when a person’s soul separates from his or her body (Hebrews 9:27). Eternal death separates a person, both soul and body, from God forever in Hell (Revelation 20:15). Hell is a “place of torment” (Luke 16:28b), it is a “fiery furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth” (Matthew 13:42).

How can we have eternal life and avoid damnation in Hell? Can we receive God’s salvation by being a good person?

Religion: Good Works

Are you a good person? Do you believe in God? Do you go to church?

Many people try to satisfy God’s judgment and attempt to gain or earn eternal life many different ways. They think they are going to heaven based on a system of belief (religion) or a moral code. We will examine some common misconceptions.

Man says, “I believe in God.”

The Bible says, “You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that – and shudder” (James 2:19). Believing that God exists is a good start but that alone will not get a person into heaven. “For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him” (Romans 1:21).

Man says, “I am a good person and I do good deeds (help others, sacrifice time and effort, donate money to church/charity).”

The Bible says, “All of us have become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous acts are like filthy rags” (Isaiah 64:6a). Giving of time and money and helping others are “good” things to do but they will not save us from eternal death in Hell. Remember that we were all born with a sinful nature so it is not what we do but who we are (Titus 3:5; Ephesians 2:8-9).

Man says, “I go to church, worship God and take place in religious ceremonies (traditions).”

The Bible says, “There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death” (Proverbs 14:12). Going to church and taking part in religious ceremonies or ordinances (i.e. communion) again are “good” things but they do not take care of man’s sin problem. Churchgoing folk may even fool a lot of people, including themselves, into thinking they are “good”. On the outside (actions, speech) people may even appear to be Christians but God knows the heart of all men. “He (Jesus) said to them (Pharisees) “You are the ones who justify yourselves in the eyes of men, but God knows your hearts. What is highly valued among men is detestable in God’s sight” (Luke 16:15).

Man says, “I am not as bad as so and so nor do I commit major sins (murder, adultery, robbery).”

The Bible says, “Who can say, “I have kept my heart pure; I am clean and without sin” (Proverbs 20:9). God is perfect and therefore all sin is serious in His sight. The Bible teaches that sin is not limited to just actions but also includes thoughts and words. “He (Jesus) went on “What comes out of a man is what makes him ‘unclean’. For from within, out of men’s hearts, come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, greed, malice, deceit, lewdness, envy, slander, arrogance and folly. All these evils come from inside and make a man ‘unclean’” (Mark 7:20-23).

Man is powerless to save himself from sin’s penalty of death. Our best efforts will not pay the debt of sin demanded from us by a holy and just God.

“What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body of death” (Romans 7:24)? What is God’s plan of salvation? Watch Video

Christ’s Payment

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16). God hates sin but He loves sinners. God sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to pay the penalty for our sins by dying on the cross in our place. Jesus, who is God, became a man and lived the life (without sin) that we cannot live. “God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God” (2 Corinthians 5:21) (Hebrews 4:15). Jesus died the death that we could not die. “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8). We have learned that our best efforts, all of our righteous acts, cannot restore our relationship with God. When Jesus died on the cross, He provided a way for us to have a right relationship with God here on earth and in heaven. “For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus” (1 Timothy 2:5).

How can Jesus Christ become your Savior? How do we receive salvation?

Trust In Christ

If you want to enter into a right relationship with God and have eternal life in heaven you must receive Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. Jesus said in John 14:6 “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” In order to receive Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, you must repent of your sins and put your trust in Jesus Christ alone as the only hope of eternal life.

Repent

The Bible teaches us that all people “must turn to God in repentance and have faith in our Lord Jesus” (Acts 20:21b). When we repent of our sins, God forgives us and wipes our slate clean. “Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out” (Acts 3:19a). Repentance is more than just asking God for forgiveness, it is also changing our attitude toward sin. We must now live in a way that is pleasing to God.

Believe

“That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved” (Romans 10:9-10). When you put your trust in Jesus Christ, it means that you believe that He is the Son of God, who died for you on the cross and rose from the dead. It is a transfer of trust from your own good works or religion to Christ as the only way of salvation. “For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved” (Romans 10:13).

What are the results of our salvation?

God’s Promise: Eternal Life

Jesus said in John 5:24 “I tell you the truth, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life.” What an awesome promise for those that put their faith in Christ alone! Jesus tells us that the believer: 1) will have eternal life, 2) will not come into God’s judgment (not be condemned), and 3) has passed out of death into life – no longer being separated from God but living with Him forever in heaven. Do you have a desire to have a relationship with God? Will you receive Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior today? No matter the time or the place you can pray to God now.

How do you receive God’s salvation?

Admit that you are a sinner, confess that you have sinned against God and ask Him for forgiveness.

Believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is the Son of God Who died for you on the cross, rose from the dead, and is Lord.

Call upon Jesus Christ to be your Lord and Savior enabling you to turn from sin and to live for Him.
If you made the decision today to trust Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, we rejoice in your salvation and encourage you to walk with God daily! Pray to God, read the Bible, and join a Bible believing church to spiritually grow in your Christian faith. Share with others the Gospel of Jesus Christ so they too may know of God’s love and gift of eternal life.
“Then he said to them all: “If anyone could come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me” (Luke 9:23).
